NAP Consistency Checker

NAP — name, address, phone — is the fingerprint search engines use to decide that fifty listings belong to one business. When the fingerprint smudges (an old suite number here, "St." there, a tracking number somewhere else), the listings stop reinforcing each other and start competing. This checker compares your details across listings the way an auditor would: character by character, punctuation ignored.

What Counts as a Mismatch?

Different phone numbers and moved addresses are the serious ones — they split the profile and can send customers to a closed location. Name variations (LLC present on one listing, missing on another) matter less but still dilute. Suite numbers deserve special care: if your master record has one, it belongs everywhere; if it does not, it belongs nowhere. Why does punctuation not matter but words do?

Search engines normalise punctuation and spacing; what they cannot safely merge are different words and numbers. This checker follows the same rule, so a difference it flags is one worth fixing.
